What couples therapy is: In couples therapy, the client is the relationship — not either partner individually. We work on the space between you: communication patterns, the argument that never resolves, trust, intimacy, money, parenting, and the daily habits that either feed a relationship or starve it. My couples work is Gottman-informed and integrative, drawing on every tool on the Therapies page as the relationship needs it.

The No-Secrets Policy

Because the couple is the client, I practice with a no-secrets policy: information one partner shares with me — by phone, by email, or in any individual session held as part of couples work — is not held in confidence from the other partner. This isn’t harshness; it’s structural honesty. It keeps me neutral, it protects the therapy from becoming a place where secrets are stored, and it means anything important enters the room in the open, at a pace we set together. If you’re not ready for something to be known, we’ll talk about what it would take to get ready — but I won’t help carry it in the dark.

Affair recovery & rebuilding fidelity

Infidelity is survivable more often than people believe — but not by pretending, and not by rushing. This work moves through honest accounting of what happened, the rebuilding of trust in verifiable steps, and the harder question underneath: what kind of relationship do you both actually want to build now? Some couples come out stronger than before the breach. Some discover the honest answer is a respectful ending. Both are legitimate outcomes of good therapy.

Co-parenting, closure & cooperative divorce

Not every couple in my office is trying to stay together — some are trying to end well, which is its own skill. Sharing a suite with Rusca Law creates a setting where separating couples can work through co-parenting plans and emotional closure alongside the legal process. Ending a marriage without ending your ability to raise children together is some of the most valuable work a couple can do.

A note on payment: some insurance plans cover couples therapy and some don’t — we’ll verify yours before the first session, and cash pay is always an option. Details on the Insurance & Fees page.
