We accept most insurance plans for individual, family, and adolescent therapy. If we’re not currently in-network with your insurance company, we may be able to apply to become a provider — just ask.
Couples therapy: some plans cover it and some don’t. We’ll verify your specific coverage before your first appointment so there are no surprises.
Cash pay is always an option — no insurance required, no diagnosis on file with an insurer, full privacy.
Private-Pay Rates
- Individual: $150
- Couples: $175
- Family: $200
Each session is 50 minutes, with 10 minutes reserved for clinician notes.
Verifying Your Coverage
To verify your coverage, have ready: the front and back of your insurance card, your date of birth, full name, and address. Call or text (559) 777-SELF (7353) or email lisa@ruscatherapy.com and we’ll check your individual benefits.
The Client Portal
Billing and paperwork run through SimplePractice. In the portal you can double-check your appointment time, read and send messages, pay your bill, and update your credit card. Appointments are not booked through the portal — scheduling happens directly with your therapist, or by calling or texting the office.
Payment
Clients maintain a credit card on file, and payment is due the same day of your appointment — typically set on autopay.
Cancellations
A $50 fee is charged for same-day cancellations and no-shows. Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled at no charge when we’re given at least 24 hours’ notice.
Appointment Times
Appointments are typically set on the hour, and there’s no need to arrive early. We honor a 15-minute grace period — please let us know if you’re running late. Plan to reserve the full 60-minute hour: sessions typically run 45–50 minutes, plus about five minutes to schedule your next appointment directly with your therapist. Sessions may also start 10–15 minutes late without prior notice.
We rarely cancel the same day — only for an emergency or a client crisis. If another client’s cancellation opens a gap in the schedule, we may ask whether you can come in at a different time or day. We appreciate your patience, your flexibility, and your respect for other clients’ privacy.
Scheduling
Recurring appointments become an option after three sessions. They need to be reset through the system periodically, and may not be permitted if several are cancelled. You can also call or message us to schedule an appointment, ask about insurance or billing, or get help with the portal or any forms — our manager, Audrey Daniele, will be happy to assist you.
Failure to provide intake forms 24 hours in advance may result in cancellation and rescheduling of client appointments.
When You Arrive
Check in at reception; the front desk staff will let you know when your therapist is ready for you. You can also message us directly when you arrive — and you’ll need to if reception has left for the day. Reception staff manage every office in the building and usually leave by 5:00 PM.
If you’re concerned we may not know you’ve arrived, knock once, take a few steps back, and wait for the therapist to call you in. Please give space to the client ahead of you. The waiting room is meant to give clients added confidentiality — no one wants to feel overheard through the door, or have a stranger walk in. Someone may be in crisis or emotional at the end of a session.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs for services. Ask us and we’ll provide one before you begin care.
